About The Position

The Nursing Professional Development Generalist - ICU position is a full-time role that requires ICU experience. The role involves supporting the orientation process for nursing and healthcare personnel, assisting with competency management, and designing educational activities to address practice gaps. The position requires collaboration with leadership to meet educational needs and the ability to evaluate the impact of programming on learners and patient outcomes. The role also necessitates knowledge of age-specific care and the ability to assess and interpret patient data. The position is on-site and requires flexibility to work off shifts and weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • 3 years of experience in front line nursing with ICU experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong presentation/speaking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Assist with competency management using tools that capture objective and subjective data regarding knowledge and performance.
  • Design educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences in consultation with an NPD Specialist.
  • Utilize best practice standards including adult learning principles in planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities.
  • Provide strategies for lifelong learning including role transition, role integration, skill acquisition, and mastery.
  • Collaborate with system and operational leadership to meet education needs of the site and nursing departments.
  • Adjust materials and teaching strategies based on learner's developmental level, learning needs, and cultural background.
  • Evaluate and analyze the impact of programming on learners, organizational resources, and patient outcomes.
  • Establish and implement evaluation tools to identify needs or gaps in knowledge, skills, and competencies of nursing personnel.
  • Develop and support education needs based on specialty or department in collaboration with regional and system teams.
