The School of Nursing at Boise State University invites applications for a Program Director, with a Clinical Open Rank Professor position. The primary responsibility of the Program Director involves leading and managing the prelicence BS program, overseeing curriculum, instruction, program development, and clinical placements. Clinical faculty involves teaching students in both academic and clinical settings, supervising clinical experiences, and engaging in professionally related community service. While they may, they are not required to participate in research or scholarship activities as part of their regular assignment. The successful candidate will have a background in nurse education and competence in a specific clinical practice area. Candidates should also be technologically competent and able to use technology to deliver effective education. This position is location-specific to the Boise State University campus and requires in-person, pre-license BS program teaching. Clinical faculty generally teach 12 hours of didactic and clinical/lab/simulation courses, or 80% of the allotted workload per semester, with the remaining time devoted toward research and service. For this position, the ideal candidate will work mainly with students in the learning lab, simulation lab, and out in the clinical setting. There may be opportunities for a didactic workload assignment in the future.
