About The Position

As a Manager, Nursing, your ability to multitask and oversee multiple areas of the unit allows for the successful flow of information and consistent management of needs to achieve quality care.

Requirements

• Nursing Degree required
• Minimum three (3) years acute/continuing care clinical experience
• MDS proficiency preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA)
• RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• Minimum 3 years acute/continuing care clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and appropriate staffing levels and skills during all hours of operation
• Maintain ongoing communication with staff regarding performance
• Develop and assess department goals and objectives
• Act as a resource to department, staff, patients and other department staff and the community
• Act as a liaison and facilitate the flow of information
• Assure completion of incident reports and patient complaints with appropriate follow-up
• Support and communicate standards of care, management philosophy and objectives
• Provide input regarding departmental budget for staffing supplies
• Develop the resident care plan and ensure implementation through the interdisciplinary team
• Develop, implement and evaluate in conjunction with Senior Director of a department Quality Improvement Plan
