About The Position

Under the direction of the Department Director, the Peri-Operative Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility in overseeing and coordinating the clinical activities, operations, quality and safety of patient care and patient experience of the assigned unit(s). The Peri-Operative Nurse Manager directs, supervises and assists in evaluating the performance of the nursing and ancillary staff. The Peri-Operative Nurse Manager works with the Department Director on ensuring personnel development, management and retention of staff. The Peri-Operative Nurse Manager collaborates with the Department Director on implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards of care and practice. Participates in assigned hospital committees and promotes collaborative relationships among Nursing, medical staff and other departments. Assists in ensuring assigned units are compliant with regulatory standards and appropriateness of care. Actively participates in Surgical Services growth initiatives and plans. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BSN required.
  • MSN preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Nursing experience in area of practice required.
  • Previous leadership/management experience required.
  • Current and active Florida State RN Licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at start date.
  • Additional certifications required at start date or interfacility transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • CNOR certification preferred.
