About The Position

Under the direction of the Department Director of the Intensive Care unit and the Progressive Care unit, the Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility in overseeing and coordinating the clinical activities, operations, quality and safety of patient care and patient experience of the assigned unit. The Nurse Manager works with the Department Director on ensuring personnel development, management and retention of staff. The Nurse Manager collaborates with the Department Director on implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards of care and practice. Participates in assigned hospital committees and promotes collaborative relationships among Nursing, medical staff and other departments. Assists in ensuring assigned units are compliant with regulatory standards and appropriateness of care. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BSN required.
  • MSN preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Nursing experience in area of practice required.
  • Previous leadership/management experience required.
  • Current and active Florida State RN Licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at start date.
  • ACLS certification required for all Nursing Units/Depts (except Nursery) within 90 days of start date.
  • PALS certification required for PACU within 90 days of start date or prior to completion of orientation.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
