About The Position

The position is for a nursing role in the Neonatal ICU department at Ascension Via Christi St Joseph in Wichita, Kansas. The schedule is part-time, requiring 24 hours of work per week during the day shift from 7 AM to 7 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. The role involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and adhering to established policies and procedures of the healthcare organization.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must be accepted or enrolled in a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Nice To Haves

• NICU/PICU/Peds experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.
• Observe patient status and responses, documenting and reporting observations to preceptor or other appropriate staff.
• Assist preceptor with the development of care plans by reporting test results and patient observations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.
