About The Position

Great Basin College is hiring for a full-time, 9-month non-tenure nursing faculty position. Inspire the next generation of nurses! Great Basin College (GBC) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Nursing Instructor to join our team in Pahrump, Nevada. Requirements

  • Master’s in Nursing (MSN) OR a BSN with enrollment in an MSN program within one year of hire. Degrees must be from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited program.
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience (preferably in medical/surgical, acute care, or community health).
  • Eligible for Nevada RN licensure (licensure required upon hire).
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring nursing students.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to oversee students in clinical settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with distance learning and online instruction is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the AAS Nursing and RN-BSN programs (lecture, online, and clinical).
  • Provide hands-on instruction in simulation labs and clinical environments.
  • Evaluate student performance and ensure achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities, and student advisement.
  • Contribute to the nursing department and college committees.
  • Support the CNA program as needed.

  • Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees Great Basin College is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee’s spouse or domestic partner.
