About The Position

The position involves teaching courses in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program, including lectures, laboratories, and clinical experiences. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in nursing required (BSN may be accepted with progress towards an MSN).
  • Teaching experience in an associate degree nursing education program preferred.
  • Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of Kansas.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) required.
  • Minimum of two years nursing experience providing direct patient care.
  • Ability to incorporate study skills and adult learning theory into teaching.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a student-centered environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and willingness to collaborate.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
  • Mental ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses (lecture, laboratory, and clinical) in the ADN Program, including alternative delivery systems.
  • Participate in planning and implementing educational experiences in collaboration with faculty and clinical affiliates.
  • Maintain evaluation and attendance records as requested.
  • Participate in continuous evaluation of the nursing program as defined by the Kansas State Board of Nursing and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
  • Serve on program and institutional committees.
  • Attend work regularly and comply with HutchCC policies.
  • Participate in faculty development activities.
  • Maintain professional requirements of clinical affiliates.
  • Advise prospective and enrolled students as needed.
  • Mentor honors students and new faculty.
  • Sponsor co-curricular activities.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
