About The Position

Nursing House Supervisors are to provide designated support for the administrative and clinical leadership of the Nursing Department. Assumes responsibility for the management of areas to ensure optimal patient outcomes are achieved. Serves as a resource for nursing staff. Works with nursing staff, other professionals, units/departments and/or community agencies. Identifies operational problems and takes appropriate action to correct the specific problem. Maintains appropriate staffing coverage for clinical units, ensuring standardized data is used in staffing decisions. Supervises and evaluates nursing unit personnel for a specific shift in accordance with established evaluation criteria and personnel policies. Evaluates nursing staff in accordance with established standards of care, evaluation criteria and personnel policies. Mediates problems involving patient/families, hospital personnel and public.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a registered Nurse in Illinois.
  • A thorough knowledge of JCAHO, Medicare, OSHA regulation and all other state and federal regulatory standards.
  • Successful completion of CPR and CPI that is provided during orientation.
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN Preferred.
  • Prefer two years work experience in a psychiatric treatment setting with children, adolescents or adults
