About The Position

Teaches, advises, and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook. This position is a full-time, tenure-track position.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement.
  • Masters or Doctorate in Nursing.
  • Current Oklahoma RN License.
  • CPR certification.
  • Vaccination status and tuberculosis testing required.
  • At least two years of clinical Nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in nursing education and evaluating students in the clinical area.
  • Established area of research and recent publications in refereed journals.

Responsibilities

  • Didactic, simulation, and clinical teaching of undergraduate and graduate nursing courses.
  • Engagement in scholarly/creative activities and service to the department, college, university, and profession.
  • Publishing papers in refereed journals.
  • Giving presentations at national and international conferences with nursing students.
  • Assisting faculty in the publication process within refereed journals.
  • Development and implementation of evidence-based projects.
  • Formulation of presentations at national or international conferences.
  • Developing grant proposals leading to the submission of a completed external grant proposal every other year.
  • Maintaining an active role in curriculum and assessment as it pertains to research and evidence-based practice.
  • Developing innovative programs that improve nursing research for faculty and students.
