About The Position

The Nursing Tenure Track Faculty position at Pellissippi State Community College is a full-time role aimed at providing guidance, instruction, and leadership to registered nursing students in the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) program. The faculty member will engage in teaching theory, lab, and clinical practice across various nursing specialties, while also participating in departmental activities and contributing to the college's mission and values.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college/university.
  • At least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field.
  • Unencumbered RN licensure in the State of Tennessee.
  • American Heart Association CPR certification for healthcare professionals.
  • One year of teaching experience in a pre-licensure program.
  • Three years of related work experience as an RN preferred.
  • Acute Care Clinical Experience within the past 3 years preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom, lab, and clinical instruction to nursing students.
  • Assist with evaluation, scheduling, and advising of students.
  • Instruct in nursing theory and practice, including Fundamentals and Medical Surgical Nursing.
  • Supervise R.N. nursing students in clinical, laboratory, and community settings.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students and colleagues.
  • Engage in departmental activities associated with the instructional program.
  • Participate in professional organizations related to nursing and teaching.
  • Develop syllabi that meet college requirements and student needs.
  • Establish and communicate grading procedures and standards.
  • Monitor the academic progress of advisees and hold conferences as needed.
