About The Position

The Department of Nursing in the School of Science, Engineering and Health at Messiah University invites applications for a full-time/term-tenure track or clinical track Nursing faculty position. Primary responsibilities include teaching in the classroom and clinical nursing settings. Course responsibilities may include Pediatrics, Critical Care, Nursing Research, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and other nursing courses of interest and expertise. Doctorally prepared candidates (PhD or DNP) may have the opportunity to teach graduate-level courses. Faculty will have advising and institutional service responsibilities and continue their own scholarship and practice. Post Graduate Certificate - Family Nurse Practitioner The program enjoys a reputation for high-quality classroom and clinical instruction, producing well-prepared graduates who are preferred for hire in local and regional healthcare institutions. The program boasts unique opportunities for study abroad and cross-cultural learning. The BSN and DNP/FNP programs have maintained a 100% FNP board pass rate and a 99.4% five-year average for first-time NCLEX pass rate. Requirements

  • Minimum of Master of Science degree in nursing with appropriate clinical practice certifications
  • Clinical experience in pediatric nursing is required.
  • Candidate should be committed to excellence in teaching in a Christian liberal arts setting and to ongoing scholarship, service, and practice in nursing.
  • Must have a current, valid professional nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania, or willing to obtain upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • doctoral degree in nursing highly preferred (PhD or DNP) or current enrollment in doctoral study.
  • Graduate preparation in nursing education and certification in nursing education (CNE) are highly preferred.
  • If not doctorally prepared, must commit to a plan to begin doctoral education within five years of hire.
  • Previous didactic and clinical teaching experience preferred.
