About The Position

The Assistant Clinical Professor at AdventHealth University plays a crucial role in overseeing clinical training for MSN students. This position involves arranging clinical sites, teaching in clinical environments, and ensuring the effectiveness of clinical training. The Assistant Professor is expected to mentor colleagues and students while demonstrating competence in education, professional service, and scholarship.

Requirements

• Current valid State of Florida nursing license or RN, National certification.
• Master's degree or above in nursing.
• Minimum of three years of clinical practice as a master's prepared nurse.

• Experience teaching in a higher education nursing program.
• Doctoral degree from a regionally-accredited academic institution in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Make arrangements for all clinical sites for MSN students.
• Teach in the clinical environment and monitor the efficacy of clinical training.
• Supervise clinical students in various healthcare settings including hospitals and clinics.
• Assist the FNP Program and MSN Clinical Coordinators with clinical rotation site acquisition and maintenance.
• Ensure all required documentation for clinical rotation sites is in order.
• Conduct clinical site visits for online students as per established protocols.
• Refine clinical rotation syllabi and create end-of-rotation exams with oversight from faculty and coordinators.
• Maintain electronic student clinical record systems and practicum logs on the Typhon Portal.
• Review and recommend updates to the Clinical Year Manual every six months or as necessary.
