About The Position

The Nursing Educator I provides educational services to clinical staff and demonstrates clinical expertise and clinical knowledge of unit(s) served. The Nursing Educator assists in the assessment of knowledge gap leading to the planning, implementing and evaluating development and implementation of educational programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Nursing degree (BSN).
  • Must have at least twenty-four (24) months recent clinical nursing experience.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in specialty area Group 1 - Departments Behavioral Health-Psych-Outpatient/Inpatient Inpatient Rehab-LG Med/Surg/Oncololgy Radiation Oncology Surgical/Pediatric Services Cancer (Infusion) Center Dialysis- Inpt Infusion Center Palliative Care Pre-Admission Services (PAS) Wound Care Clinic
  • CA Registered Nurse - California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
  • Two (2) years’ experience in specialty area Group 2 - Departments Cardiac Rehabilitation Endoscopy Medical Services/Med Surg/Orthopedic Services-LG Critical Care Unit CCU-LG Operating Room OR-LG Progressive Care Unit Imaging Services (MV) Interventional Services (MV) Interventional Services (LG) Outpatient Services Dept – Operating Room PCR (CCU/Progressive Care/Telemetry) PCR (Cardiac Monitoring Transport) PCR (Med/Surg) PCR (Progressive Care/Telemetry) PCR (Med/Surg/Telemetry) Pre-Op/Short Stay Pre-Admit/Short Stay-LG Telemetry Telemetry/Stroke
  • Current NIHSS certification required.
  • CA Registered Nurse - California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support- American Heart Association
  • Two (2) years’ experience in specialty area Group 3 - Departments Emergency Department (MV &LG) PACU (MV &LG) Outpatient Surgery Department -Pre-Op/PACU Emergency Management
  • CA Registered Nurse - California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support- American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support- American Heart Association
  • Two (2) years’ experience in specialty area Group 4 - Departments Level II Nursery-LG PCR (Mother-Baby/Level III NICU) NICU Mother/Baby (MV & LG) Post Partum-LG
  • CA Registered Nurse - California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program - American Academy of Pediatrics
  • Two (2) years’ experience in specialty area Group 5- Departments Labor & Delivery-(MV & LG) PCR (Mother-Baby/L&D)
  • CA Registered Nurse - California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program - American Academy of Pediatrics
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results and coordinate projects.
  • Working knowledge of, Title XXII and The Joint Commission regulations.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and in situations requiring instruction, conflict resolution, consulting and advising, as well as written communication.
