About The Position

THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DIRECTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CLINICAL, OPERATIONAL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP OF A 26 BED ADULT INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC UNIT. THIS ROLE ENSURES THE DELIVERY OF SAFE, HIGH-QUALITY, TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE. THE DIRECTOR PROVIDES OVERSIGHT OF INTERDISCIPLINARY STAFF, MAINTAINS REGULATORY COMPLIANCE, MANAGES FISCAL PERFORMANCE, AND FOSTERS A CULTURE OF COLLABORATION, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's acceptable + 5 years leadership experience required in social work, counseling, psychology or related field.
  • Behavioral health leadership experience required; license preferred.
  • Healthcare provider (CPR) certification within 6 months.
  • Comprehensive crisis management certification required within 12 months of start date in position/department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for a 26 bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, trauma-informed care.
  • Oversee interdisciplinary staff.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Manage fiscal performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
