About The Position

The Nursing Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients in the assigned departments. This role involves planning, coordinating, and evaluating overall clinical nursing practice and management activities within the department. The Nursing Coordinator participates in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures, maintaining open communication with all staff to promote performance improvement. A sound knowledge of nursing practice and management skills is essential for this position.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience in the area of practice.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Current Kentucky RN license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care that promotes safety and well-being.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate clinical nursing practice and management activities.
• Participate in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain open communication with staff to promote performance improvement.
• Perform or oversee the collection of holistic assessments and development of care plans.
• Assess the patient population daily and make rounds with physicians.
• Provide direct patient care as appropriate.
• Lead and participate in interdisciplinary team planning and evaluation of patient care.
• Troubleshoot complex patient care problems and document findings.
• Serve as a resource for new care providers and monitor their progress.
• Review patient information and assess responses to treatment.
• Collect data on patient outcomes and implement performance improvement activities.
• Develop partnerships with care providers, patients, and families.
• Provide education to patients and families based on identified needs.
• Ensure staff receives proper orientation and education.
• Participate in the interviewing, hiring, and termination of employees.
• Monitor staff performance and attendance.
