ENA offers a flexible hybrid work schedule that allows employees the opportunity to work from the office two days a week and at home three days a week. We are headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois. The Nursing Content Specialist is responsible for the content of educational products and practice resources to ensure clinical accuracy, relevance to emergency nursing practice, and consistency among ENA educational offerings. This role focuses on creating education content for new and emerging ENA programs and requires consistent pulse and knowledge of current environment, literature and evidence. There will be a high level of collaboration with colleagues across various divisions.

Requirements

  • RN, BSN required.
  • Registered nurse; minimum of 7-10years of recent experience working as an emergency nurse and/or nurse educator
  • Writing experience to support evidence-based practice

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that educational product content is clinically accurate, evidence-based, and consistent with current practice and other ENA educational offerings, including understanding specific practice needs/gaps and understanding current evidence, sourcing SMEs, writing and revising.
  • Accountable for the specific program educational content at all different stages of development, from product concept to content development, product delivery, product evaluation, and revision.
  • Responsible as the nurse planner for education programs in accordance with American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) criteria for accredited education, demonstrating ongoing education to ensure awareness and capability to deliver on ANCC criteria.
  • Supports the delivery of education to hospitals, training centers, and other key stakeholders using the concepts of adult learning principles and adheres to the teaching standards of ENA.
  • Reviews and develops educational products and practice resources based on the educational needs assessment, professional gap identification, stakeholder feedback, market research, and related market information.
  • Sourcing and managing SMEs to ensure quality content development, providing support to members/learners with regard to clinical content as needed.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders across ENA departments including project specialist, product management, nurse planners, marketing and business development as products are considered for development and revision.
  • Serves as a staff liaison to committees and work groups responsible for the development or revision of educational products. Participates in committee workgroups, per ENA’s strategic and business plan, interacting with groups in various ways. Develops agendas, materials, reports and disseminates information to appropriate individuals and groups.
  • Participates in ENA’s conferences by providing SME feedback, planning events, attending the conference(s), participating in speaking engagements, and assisting with executing any planned education program events onsite.
  • Contributes to the workplace culture that is consistent with the association’s culture statement and emphasizes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
