About The Position

Rockhurst is seeking a Nursing Clinical Instructor. The School of Nursing is in one of two academic schools housed in NHS. The School of Nursing offers bachelor's and master's level nursing degree programs. The School of Health Sciences includes Communication Sciences and Disorders, Exercise Science, Health Science, Medical Assisting, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy. Nursing is known for its innovative teaching using a broad range of active learning experiences, close faculty-student interactions, and our strong mission focused on service, advocacy, and leadership. Requirements

Master’s degree in nursing required, or in progress for clinical instructor.
Significant past experience in a clinical setting.
Minimum of 2 years nursing practice as an RN.
Must hold current MO RN Licensure.
Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team in a professional and confidential manner.

Nice To Haves

1-2 years prior teaching experience in higher education preferred.
Evidence of commitment to nursing profession, with focus on nursing education.

Responsibilities

Interact with patients in a clinical setting, travel to clinical sites, as applicable.
Complete and submit written clinical evaluations for assigned students in a timely manner.
Adheres to nursing education accreditation standards, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Coordinates with other faculty, and others as indicated, on course implementation.
Submits student progress reports to course lead, Program Director and Advisor, and discusses any student needs that may require directed attention or remediation plans.
Adheres to all Saint Luke’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences policies and procedures.
Completes annual requirements as an employee of SLCNHS.
Evidence of effective professional role modeling.
Looks for ways to improve quality of one’s teaching.
Works effectively in a team-taught course.
Uses formal and informal evaluation results into teaching.
Uses evidence-based teaching methods in the classroom or alternate learning environment as well as in the overall nurse-educator role.
Uses technology in teaching and learning successfully.
Receives positive peer assessments in teaching.
Represents the college locally, regionally, or nationally with professional presentations related to teaching and learning.
Maintains clinical competence.
Obtains or maintains professional certifications, degrees, and other specialty credentials.
Demonstrates effective role modeling of collegiality by working in inter- professional teams.
