About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, a Magnet Hospital, and provide stellar care to patients on the Postpartum Mother/Baby unit. This unit specializes in caring for mothers and their new infants, offering education and support for a smooth transition home. As a Nursing Clinical Clerical, you will perform a variety of tasks encompassing both administrative functions and direct patient care. Your clerical duties will include data collection, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring adequate supplies. In collaboration with a registered nurse, you will help ensure patients receive appropriate treatments and daily support. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop both administrative and nursing skills within a supportive healthcare environment. This position requires working nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with additional weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) before or within the new hire period
• Proficient in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an eighth-grade level
• Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous health care and patient care experience in a hospital
• Completion of a Medical Assisting course
• State Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA)

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of an RN
• Assist with data collection and treatments
• Perform administrative functions for the unit
• Observe and report changes in patients’ condition
• Document activities in the patient care record
• Assist with transporting and discharging patients
• Transcribe and process all orders
• Prepare, maintain and process all charts, filed, records and mail
• Maintain inventory
