About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Care Operations, the Health System Nursing Business Manager partners closely with executive leadership and clinical teams to design and implement innovative models and best practices to support nursing operations. The Business Manager drives the health system's operational, financial, and strategic goals by aligning business operations with patient-centered care. Leveraging deep nursing knowledge and strong leadership skills, the Business Manager oversees clinical and administrative processes to ensure optimal resource utilization and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Recent leadership or project management experience in an acute care setting with an understanding of clinical and administrative processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, project planning and implementation skills
  • Demonstrated experience working on operational, financial, and strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience implementing programs and initiatives that support nursing operations
  • Ability to translate complex data and information and communicate it simply and effectively to constituents
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to effectively manage risk and ambiguity on a project

Nice To Haves

  • Prior demonstrated work experience using the principals of PMBOK and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • PMP Certification
  • MHA, MBA, or MSN
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and foster collaboration across departments to enhance care delivery and organizational performance
  • Coach and mentor operational leaders to maximize labor productivity while adhering to budgetary targets
  • Collaborate with Workforce Planning to oversee master service providers, ensuring staffing resources are utilized effectively, contractual obligations are met, and workforce strategies support both operational excellence and high-quality patient care
