Nursing Attendant - Part Time Night + Weekends & Holidays - NYP/Queens
About The Position
At NewYork-Presbyterian, certified nurse’s aides are invaluable care providers at the bedside, serving as critical points of contact for patients and their families. This role involves partnering with Nurses and ICU Technicians, monitoring patient vitals like blood pressure and temperature, and ensuring the delivery of meals and safe transport. Nursing Attendants are expected to provide comfort and caring, infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day, and keep fast-paced environments running smoothly. They perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse, aiming to improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Specific tasks include measuring and recording temperatures, pulses, respiration, and blood pressure. This is a Part Time Night position, working 23 hours per week from 11pm to 7am at NYP/Queens Hospital, with every weekend potentially required for the first two years of employment.
Requirements
- Previous Nurse’s aide experience or equivalent in a hospital setting; or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program, or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum
- BLS from AHA
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must be able to complete mandatory 2 week orientation Monday - Friday from 8AM - 4PM upon hire
