About The Position

Nursing Attendant – 8S Medical Surgical - Part Time Nights, Weekends and Holidays. Infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day. Provide comfort and caring as a certified nurse’s aide at NYP, keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Provide compassionate patient focused care and perform select duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure, monitor and record temperatures, pulses, respirations and blood pressures. Ensure the delivery of meals and safe patient transport. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care. This is a Part Time Night position (11 p.m. – 7 a.m.) at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens location. (29 hours weekly, 4 shifts per week). Every weekend required for the first 2 years of employment.

Requirements

• Previous Nurse’s aide experience or equivalent in a hospital setting.
• Certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program.
• Currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing at the junior year level or completed at least one clinical practicum.
• BLS from AHA.
• HS Diploma/GED.
• Must be able to complete mandatory 2-week orientation Monday - Friday from 8AM - 4PM upon hire.
