The Nursing Assistant position at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center involves providing essential care to residents within the Community Living Center.   • Maintain unit specific competencies to ensure safety and quality of care for residents.
  • Promote resident-centered care and cultural change to create a home-like environment.
  • Engage in recreation therapy activities to promote socialization and physical activities.
  • Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) as required.
  • Prioritize care for veterans and demonstrate customer service principles in all aspects of work.
  • Work cooperatively as a team member in all areas and assignments.
  • Meet the needs of customers while supporting VA Missions.
  • Protect sensitive data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must complete a probationary period if required.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Participation in seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccination programs is required.
  • Basic experience or education in nursing assistance or related fields.
  • Previous long-term care or hospice experience.
