About The Position

Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant. JOB SUMMARY: Renders patient care and a variety of procedures under supervision of registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.

Requirements

• Basic ability to read, write and understand simple instructions.
• CPR required.
• Meet unit proficiency standards.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• BLS required.
• Must demonstrate the ability to effectively recognize the unique needs of patients of all ages.
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform effectively on the unit, while coping with highly stressful situations and set priorities for multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in health care facility delivering direct patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and documents care according to hospital policies, procedures and philosophies.
• Follows strict aseptic technique at all times. Uses sterile technique when indicated.
• Observes and reports all patient concerns and changes in condition to a Nurse immediately.
• Safely transports patients, supplies, and specimens.
• Respects patient's privacy rights, respects values of individual patients, and provides care accordingly.
• Assists with orientation of new employees.
• Completes all annual competencies.
• Assists with unit cleanliness.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
• Complies with Corporate Policies, Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.
• Must be able to cross-train to other units.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
• Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration. Participates in unit meetings.
• Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on quality improvement teams.
