Nursing Assistant - Full Time - Days
About The Position
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Nursing Assistant provides physical patient care in a safe manner under the direction of the Licensed Nurse. SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Communicates abnormal variances of data (vital signs, pain, etc.) to appropriate staff. Consistently utilizes basic decision making skills to complete routine tasks. Collaborates with unit staff to provide coordinated patient care. Participates in the following best practices in a consistent and positive manner: huddles, AIDET, hourly rounding, bedside reporting, Service Excellence, and the use of the white boards. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Technical Skills as required by department Current CNA/Orderly Certification or completed basic skills course in School of Nursing High School Diploma/GED Preferred; Graduate of Approved Certified Nurse Aide Program or Related Experience Entry Level Position. Physical Demands/Work Environment Work requires a variety of physical activities, including moving about within and outside of all hospital properties for long periods of time. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergent situations. May be required to assist in controlling disorderly conduct or combative patients. Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
