About The Position

NURSING ASSISTANT Corewell Health is offering up to $1,500 for Full Time and $750 for Part Time as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About this unit The Nursing Impatient Rehab Unit practices with a Team Oriented spirit and approach to patient care. This is a unit in which no one practices alone as the Team is made up of a Multidisciplinary Team (including Physician, Therapists, Case Managers and Nurse Practitioner) working towards the same patient goals. Autonomy at all staff levels is practiced for self-scheduling, committee participation, unit decisions, educational and conference participation is encouraged as well as helping work on special projects / events for staff during work and when out of work, as well as for patients. Candidates must be willing to do on going education with patients and families / caregivers and feel comfortable assisting patients in sensitive and personal care situations. Scope of work Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
  • Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
  • Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
  • Ability to demonstrate Corewell customer service standards and behaviors in all aspects of job performance

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
  • Current CNA certification preferred
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
