About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves the hospital patient population by providing assistance and direct patient care which meets the assigned unit needs through regular rounding. Y ou will play a vital role on the acute care nursing team by following our patients throughout their recovery process and returning them back to their independence! Here's what you'll do when you join us: Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, visitors, coworkers and other departmental representatives. Answers patients' call lights promptly and communicates/completes needed patient intervention. Handles all organizational information in a manner that ensures strict confidentiality is maintained at all times. Assists in the delivery of patient care as directed to include: transfers, ambulation, feeding, dressing, bathing, weighing, and toileting. Delivers routine labs and supplies within hospital. Reports significant events and actions promptly to the RN. Applies monitors and reports to the RN the effectiveness of any safety device and/or mobility alarm. Cleans and disinfects equipment as needed and assists in keeping unit clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Graduate of a Nursing Aide program.
  • BLS Certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire and maintains certification.
  • Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification and current listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry preferred.
  • Experience in an ambulatory or inpatient health care setting with ability to multi-task and manage multiple patient/family/nursing/physician priorities within short time frames preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to and follow Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital Mission, Values, Vision and policies.
