Prior to applying, please visit our training program website at: Nursing Assistant Training Program - MultiCare Health System Jobs If you are not eligible for this program, please visit our careers website for other opportunities at: MultiCare Health System Jobs: Hospital and Nursing Jobs Location: All classroom times take place at MultiCare University (MCU) Puyallup, WA Clinical Locations: Various units at Tacoma General (Tacoma, WA) and Good Samaritan Hospital (Puyallup, WA) Program Details: The training period of the program is 7 weeks in length depending on holiday closures. Cohort Start Date: We are currently recruiting for a start date of August 11, 2025. The candidate will sign a one-year work agreement, if hired, to stay with MultiCare at least one year, once certified as a Nursing Assistant, due to the investment. The work agreement is effective the date you are transferred into your Certified Nursing Assistant role. All offers are contingent upon acceptable results on a pre-employment drug screen and background check. MultiCare maintains a nicotine-free work environment.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• Previous patient care or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• BLS Certification is to be obtained within 2 weeks of hire (during the training period).

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as grooming, bed baths, toileting, incontinence care, perineal care, oral care, and other general hygiene needs.
• Promote infection prevention by properly performing urinary catheter care, hand hygiene, and proper application/removal of personal protective equipment.
• Insure accurate tracking of intake (food and drink) and output (urine and feces).
• Dealing with bodily fluids, and the possibility of working around those with contagious diseases.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform duties as assigned in an accurate and timely manner.
• Demonstrates initiative, problem solving ability, adaptability, and flexibility.
• Work and communicate in a professional manner.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Working in a hospital setting does require the possibility of working weekends and holidays.

• Benefits are effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment at MultiCare.
• MultiCare will pay the cost of the following items: Nurse Assistant Certified Licensure, BLS Certification, Nursing Assistant Certified written and skills exam (First attempt only).
