Ready patients' room, greet and escort patient to their room, inventory possessions, assist with packing personal possessions.Food Service Functions. Prepare patients for meals, serve food trays and snacks, assist with feeding as needed, record food/fluid intake, keep water pitchers filled, assist with after meal care.Personnel Functions. Perform all tasks in accordance with policies/procedures, report all complaints/grievances made by the patient.Personal Nursing Care Functions. Assist/provide patients with activities of daily living such as oral hygiene, bath functions, dressing/undressing, bowel/bladder functions, transporting, obtaining blood sugar levels, and vital signs in a manner that promotes and maintains patient's dignity.Provide all functions as delegated by Registered Nursing Staff.Ensure patient room is ready for expected admission, i.e., name tags, admission kit, etc.Conduct purposeful Rounding using the TLC model.Respond to call bells in a timely mannerAlert nursing staff to abnormal findings during the execution of patient care dutiesStocking patient care areas with supplies needed for patient careUpdating white board with appropriate information regarding personnel and daily activitiesHelp to maintain a safe patient environment free of tripping hazardsProvide constant observation as a safety sitter to patients once trainedComply will all mandatory education as assignedAccurately document all relevant patient care activities in the Electronic Medical RecordIt is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.Education/Registration/Certification RequiredHigh School graduate or equivalency or current enrollment in a co-op program requiredAmerican Heart Association BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hireMust be able to read, write, and follow written and oral directions in English at the 12th grade level.Excellent organizational skills and work pace consistent with working in a busy, acute care unitMust be 18 years oldUpon completion of the Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program, the incumbent will transfer into CNA, Grade 8 positionThe Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program:• Includes classroom curriculum with an accredited Nursing Assistant Program• Includes on-the-job training• Must successfully complete Program within 6 months of hire into Trainee positionPhysical/Environmental RequirementsThis job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 - 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.
