The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing undergraduate program at Penn State Altoona seeks applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-line teaching position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor in Nursing . This position is a full-time, thirty-six-week appointment for the summer and fall semesters, with a April 2026, start date. Candidates for the position at the rank of Instructor will possess a master’s degree in Nursing and eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania. An earned Doctorate degree (e.g., DNP, PhD) within 5 years of hire is a condition of continued employment. Candidates for the position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor will possess a doctorate degree (e.g., DNP, PhD) and eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Candidates with a doctorate will be given preference. Primary responsibilities will include coordination and instruction in adult medical-surgical nursing, including classroom, simulation lab, and clinical teaching. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include advising students, participating in committees, and other service and scholarly activities as appropriate. Successful applicants should show evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and mastery of medical surgical subject matter; hold a valid nursing license; and be eligible for RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
