Martha & Mary is currently recruiting Hospitality Aides who are interested in becoming Certified Nursing Assistants (NACs) through our Sponsored Nursing Assistant Student Program. This entry-level role serves as the paid training and preparation phase for students prior to and during enrollment in the Nursing Assistant program through Olympic College. Program Timeline: From Hospitality Aide to Certified Nursing Assistant Step 1: Get Hired as a Hospitality Aide Start working at Martha & Mary as a Hospitality Aide Paid, hands-on experience in resident support, dining services, customer service, and long-term care operations Work full-time (30+ hours/week) Step 2: Hospitality Aide Training Phase (Approx. 6–8 Weeks) This phase serves as your on-the-job preparation for the Nursing Assistant Student Program Learn foundational skills, routines, and resident-centered care practices Build confidence working on a healthcare campus before starting college coursework During this phase, eligible employees may be selected for sponsorship into the Nursing Assistant Training Program Step 3: Sponsored Nursing Assistant Training (12 Weeks) Enroll in the Olympic College Nursing Assistant Program Martha & Mary: Pays you for college class time, clinicals, and working shifts Adjusts your work schedule to support your class and clinical requirements Partners closely with Olympic College to support your success As you learn new skills, you’ll begin applying them on campus as part of your clinical training Step 4: Graduate, Certify & Grow Complete the program and earn your Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) Transition into a Certified Nursing Assistant (NAC) role with Martha & Mary Starting NAC wage: $21.00/hour and up, based on experience Continue building a long-term healthcare career with advancement opportunities A one-year full-time employment agreement is required upon completion of the Nursing Assistant training program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (preferred for non-sponsored roles)
  • Must have fewer than 45 cumulative college credits to qualify for sponsorship
  • Ability to attend the mandatory information session
  • No prior healthcare experience required

Responsibilities

  • Follow resident assignment schedules as directed by the Charge Nurse or Unit Manager
  • Assist residents with mobility, including walking with ambulatory residents or pushing wheelchairs
  • Provide assistance with personal needs and daily living activities in a safe, respectful manner
  • Observe residents and promptly report any unusual or abnormal changes to the Charge Nurse
  • Provide 1:1 interaction and companionship (reading, games, walks, etc.)
  • Support meal periods, including transporting residents to/from the dining room
  • Take meal orders and ensure accurate tray delivery within 10 minutes
  • After proper training, assist with feeding residents in the dining room
  • Provide snacks per plan of care after verifying with the Charge Nurse
  • Fill water pitchers and pass ice water as needed
  • Answer call lights promptly and determine non-clinical requests
  • Communicate clinical requests to the NAC and follow up with residents
  • Use tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive or emotional situations
  • Promote positive public relations with residents, families, and guests
  • Follow all safety guidelines and Universal Safety Precautions
  • Safely perform physical movements including lifting up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Safely use equipment and report any malfunctions immediately
  • Participate in emergency, fire, or disaster drills and assist with evacuations
  • Make beds and tidy rooms
  • Escort residents to in-house appointments and activities (Chapel, Beauty Shop, Restorative programs)
  • Assist with building activities and events
  • Provide clerical support and help locate lost laundry or personal items
  • Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned
