About The Position

The Nursing Assistant in the Stepdown Unit at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital is responsible for providing essential patient care and maintaining a safe and clean environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves assisting with patient admissions and discharges, responding to patient needs, and performing various clinical tasks to support the nursing staff and enhance patient comfort and safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Satisfactory completion of a recognized formal program for nursing assistant/health care assistant preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and an FBI criminal history check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admission and discharge processes.
• Check and order supplies as needed.
• Perform messenger services when required.
• Respond promptly to patient care needs, including alarms and call bells.
• Perform patient weights, vital signs, and specimen collections.
