Requirements

  • Accredited Program Required: Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Required: WA Nursing Assistant Registered license.
  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the NAR licensure.
  • Perform basic technical skills such as CPR, taking and recording vital signs, and measuring fluid intake/output.
  • Apply dressings and recognize/report signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions.
  • Administer treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
  • Assist patients with personal care including bathing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
  • Help patients with mobility, including walking and exercising.
  • Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas.
  • Document relevant patient care data.
  • Provide clerical support to the unit, including order entry and answering telephones.
