Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire date, required.
• Skills in accountability, clinical skills, interacting with people, multi-tasking, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct and indirect patient care within their scope of practice, supporting patients, nursing and medical care teams.
• Perform Activity of Daily Living (ADL) care including oral care, bathing, showering, shaving, hair washing and maintenance, incontinence care and toileting/elimination needs.
• Change bed linen and maintain a decluttered patient care area.
• Understand available products for patient care and when to utilize them.
• Implement safety and preventative care measures including infection prevention, skin and pressure injury prevention, and fall prevention.
• Monitor patient safety by setting and responding appropriately to patient safety alarms.
• Assist with patient mobility including turning, ambulation, and understanding patient mobility assist devices.
• Assist with meal tray delivery, collection, and documentation of amount consumed.
• Perform patient data collection including vital signs, EKG, bladder scan, and telemetry.
• Provide direct patient monitoring and interventions as delegated and within scope of practice.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and healthcare team, reporting out of range patient data values and recognizing patient changes.
• Relate and respect each patient individually, meeting their cognitive, physical, emotional needs, and personal preferences.
• Perform other duties as requested by healthcare and leadership team, within the scope of practice.
