About The Position

Under the directions and supervision of professional and practical nursing staff, routine duties in caring for our patients’ needs, activities of daily living, and unit maintenance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant training program.
Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent as required by state regulations.
Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
Basic proficiency in computer use for documentation purposes.
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care and mobility assistance.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in assisted living or primary care settings.
Additional certifications in wound care or infection control.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated compassion and patience in patient care.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

Performs routine duties in caring for patients’ needs and activities of daily living, i.e., hygiene, comfort, ambulation.
Functions as an assistant to the nurse as assigned.
Documents and maintains data or patient’s record.
Observes assigned patients and documents observations according to policy.
Performs related work as required.
Demonstrates and promotes an awareness of patient’s age, growth, development, and cultural / spiritual.
Acts as a patient advocate.
Cooperates as a member of the nursing unit, department and overall hospital team.
Participates in performance improvement.
Communicates pertinent data to appropriate parties.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Conducts himself/herself effectively in stressful situations.
Approaches situations with distressed patients, families and visitors in a calm, professional manner.
Maintains a safe and clean environment.
