About The Position
Nursing Assistant – Grade\: S7, Job Code\: 8003 Ability to read, write and communicat e in English Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: a) MA Certified Nursing Assistant License b) Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program c) Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or National CMA d) Successful completion of an EMT Program or EMT-B/EMT-P License e) Successful completion of an LPN Program f) Equivalent clinical Military experience g) N ursing student who is currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing School Program and ha s completed Fundamentals of Nursing/Nursing 101 in lieu of a Nursing Assistant Program h) Successful completion of the C ape Cod Hospital Nursing Assistant Training program Current Basic Life Support Certification Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months of hire and must maintain recertification annually
Requirements
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English

- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months of hire and must maintain recertification annually
Responsibilities
- Participates in the nursing process during delivery of patient care.
- Assists in providing nursing care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Participates in implementing a formal plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Participates in at least four unit staff meetings per year, attends mandatory programs.
- Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
- Assesses personal and learning development needs. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.
- Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
- Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.
