About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Nursing Assistant at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! This position is 60 hours per two weeks on the Night shift, for 12 hour shifts, every third weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more. Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required
  • Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting
  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
  • Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care
  • Transporting patient and/or equipment
  • Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
  • Reordering and stocking of supplies
  • Personal grooming, bathing, toileting
  • Feeding, Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams, Oral hygiene
  • Specimen collection/testing
  • Position/ambulating patients
  • Changing linens
  • Promptly answering call lights
  • Assisting the nurse in monitoring patient condition
  • Accurately taking and recording weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, oxygen saturation
  • Placing patient on/off monitors or equipment
  • Reporting unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner
  • Assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients
  • Orienting patient and their family to the environment
  • Assuring the patient's belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer and discharge
  • Transporting patients, equipment, specimen and supplies
  • Assuring patients get to appointments on time
  • Using transfer belt when assisting patients with transfers and/or ambulation
  • Cleaning, setting up, and maintaining rooms and equipment
  • Ordering and stocking supplies
  • Accurately documenting tasks performed on appropriate form
  • Performing other tasks as needed
