About The Position

Nursing Assistant II – Inpatient Rehab (Days) Location: 1300 Hempel Avenue, Ocoee, FL Schedule: Full‑Time | 3×12‑hour shifts (Days) Orlando Health Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a Nursing Assistant II to join our Inpatient Rehab team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about direct patient care, teamwork, and supporting patients through rehabilitation and recovery. Position Summary The Nursing Assistant II provides hands‑on patient care under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN). This team member supports daily patient needs, ensures a safe and healing environment, and plays a vital role in the rehab care experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND at least one year of nursing assistant experience within the past five years
  • Completion of a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant program
  • State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
  • Medical Corpsman, EMT, paramedic, or licensed medical personnel outside the U.S.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification (required)
  • One year of experience within the last five years in a relevant healthcare setting
  • No experience required for candidates who completed an approved nursing program or other qualifying training listed above

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutritional needs
  • Provide routine treatments and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
  • Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Take and record vital signs, intake/output, and other assigned measurements
  • Accurately document patient information per Orlando Health policies
  • Communicate changes or concerns to the RN or care team
  • Participate in handoff reports and purposeful hourly rounding
  • Deliver exceptional service to patients, families, and team members
  • Maintain patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality at all times
  • Transport equipment, specimens, medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemo), and supplies as needed
  • Answer patient call lights, phones, and guest requests promptly
  • Demonstrate competency in unit‑specific skills and tasks
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives
  • Attend required meetings, in‑services, and complete all mandatory training
  • Follow all policies, safety standards, infection‑prevention practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Support planned changes and team‑based initiatives
  • Provide age‑appropriate care across the lifespan
