Summary: The NAII is responsible for administering direct patient care and performing other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal patient care.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• None required
• Certified by the N. C. State Board of Nursing as a NAII.
• Certified by the N. C. Department of Facility Services as a NAI.
• BCLS Certification.
• Good interpersonal, communication and observation skills are essential.
• Understanding of patient care needs according to developmental stages for various age groups.

Responsibilities

• Patients and families are served in providing direct patient care services.
• Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
• Ensures that contacts with other health care members is friendly helpful and courteous.
