About The Position

The Nurse Aide I assists in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Nurse Aide I assists in maintaining a clean, safe patient environment and performs job responsibilities in a safe manner. The Nurse Aide I maintains clinical and professional competencies as appropriate to the ages, developmental stages and special needs of the patients served. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program
  • Current listing with the NC Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification required

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to support comfort, hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and safety
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, toileting, transfers, and positioning
  • Measure, record, and report vital signs, intake/output, weights, and other patient data
  • Support basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, blood glucose checks, and non sterile dressing care (per competency)
  • Monitor patients under close observation needs, including safety and behavioral precautions
  • Communicate observations and complete documentation per policy and care team direction
  • Assist with range of motion exercises, CPR, postmortem care, and other delegated tasks
  • Provide patient and family support and education under RN supervision
