About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED General Studies.
  • Successful completion of a North Carolina Board of Nursing Aide I approved training program competency evaluation.
  • Nurse Aide I Registration Division of Facility Services Nurse Aide I Registry.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

Responsibilities

  • Observe/report patient appearance, behavior, care responses.
  • Monitor urine/stool/drainage and report issues.
  • Check IV therapy and report disruptions/disconnections/swelling or pain.
  • Monitor equipment function and report malfunctions.
  • Document vital signs, fluid intake/output, height/weight.
  • Record diet/activity/observations/treatments.
  • Collect specimens as directed by the nurse.
  • Maintain safe, organized patient environment.
  • Assist with elimination activities, hygiene, and therapeutic measures.
  • Turn/reposition bedfast patients every two hours.
  • Provide 1:1 monitoring.
  • Prepare/assist with meals, document food intake.
  • Assist in admission/transfer/discharge, assist with ambulation, and use lifts as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, change linens, obtain/return supplies.
  • Respond to call lights.
  • Assist with pre/post-operative care, surgical preps, and post-mortem care.
  • Provide excellent customer service, communicate well, be timely and professional.
  • Attend unit meetings, participate in continuing education.
  • Maintain professional relationships, adhere to department rules, practice teamwork.
