The Nursing Assistant employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to perform basic patient care. Under the supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse or RN, the Nursing Assistant assists with routine, direct bedside care of patients of various ages as defined by the department scope of service.

Requirements

• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine, direct bedside care of patients of various ages.
• Perform personal hygiene tasks for patients.
• Collect and observe patient data.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Manage intake and output (I&O) records.
• Utilize medical equipment as needed.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Document patient care in the medical record.
• Respond to call lights and patient requests.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations.
