About The Position

WellStar Kennestone Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Acute Pulmonary unit. This full-time position operates on the night shift and is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care. The Nursing Assistant, also referred to as a Care Partner, plays a crucial role in supporting the Registered Nurse and the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care to patients. The primary focus of this role is to enhance the patient experience by collaborating with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive the best possible care during their stay. As a Care Partner, you will assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility, while also performing basic patient care functions such as taking vital signs and assisting with ambulation. The role may require advanced technical skills, such as phlebotomy, dressing changes, and oral suctioning, depending on the needs of the unit. You will also be responsible for clerical tasks, including data retrieval, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting medications and supplies. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and communicate clearly with the healthcare team is essential for success in this position. In addition to providing direct patient care, the Nursing Assistant will engage with patients and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience. You will be expected to maintain patient confidentiality, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and participate in hourly rounding to check on patient needs. The role requires a compassionate and respectful approach, as well as the ability to take direction from various healthcare providers. Overall, this position is vital in creating a supportive and healing environment for patients in the Acute Pulmonary unit.
