About The Position
Marquis Companies offers a comprehensive Level 1 Nursing Assistant Training program designed for individuals eager to pursue a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Long-Term Care industry. This training is tailored for those who are passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of seniors. The primary goal of the selected students is to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and certification to become a CNA by successfully completing the entire course. Upon completion, students will be prepared to take the State of Oregon CNA certification exam approximately one month after finishing the training. The training program is structured to include a blend of classroom instruction, lab simulations, and clinical practice with residents and patients within the facility. Classes are held Monday through Friday for approximately four weeks, ensuring an immersive learning experience. To be considered for enrollment, applicants must submit an electronic application, and if selected, they will undergo an interview process to determine acceptance into the training course. Additionally, candidates must provide legal documentation proving their identity and eligibility for employment in the United States, pass a criminal background check, and be at least 17 years old. Fingerprinting is also required by the Oregon State Board of Nursing prior to starting the training. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate professionalism, attentiveness, and readiness to participate in the program. They should be prepared to dedicate 2 to 3 hours of study each night, possess the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and be capable of standing for extended periods. Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English is also essential. Upon passing quizzes, the final exam, and other evaluations, students will graduate from the course and be eligible to take the State of Oregon CNA Exam. Graduates may also find employment opportunities as CNAs within any of the thirteen Marquis Long-Term Care facilities in the Portland Metro area or through the Marquis At Home agency.
