Marquis provides a Level 1 Nursing Assistant Training for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This training program is designed for those who are passionate and committed to working in the Long-Term Care industry. The primary responsibility of a student selected for the Marquis Companies Nursing Assistant Training Course is to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by successfully completing the entire course. Upon completion, students will be prepared to take the State of Oregon CNA certification exam approximately one month after finishing the course. To be considered for the training course, applicants must submit an electronic application. If selected for an interview, acceptance into the training course will be determined afterward. Enrollment requirements include providing legal documentation to establish identity and eligibility for employment in the United States, passing a criminal background check, passing employment reference checks, and being at least 17 years of age. Additionally, fingerprints will be required prior to beginning the training course by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN). The program is fast-paced and consists of classroom instruction, lab simulations, and clinical practice with residents and patients in the facility. Classes are held Monday through Friday for approximately six weeks, with specific class dates and respective classroom hours and clinical rotations provided to students.
