The Care Partner is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Their primary focus is to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team, and other healthcare providers to deliver excellence in patient experience. They assist with daily living activities and comfort measures, and help other healthcare providers with safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware care by performing basic patient care functions such as ADLs, ambulation, and vital signs. The Care Partner may also be required to perform approved advanced technical skills like phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters, depending on unit needs. Additionally, they perform clerical functions including data retrieval, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/patient medications. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, effective communication with the Registered Nurse and ancillary team, and the ability to perform under stressful conditions with a compassionate, respectful, and service mindset. They must be organized and able to take direction from various care providers.
