Nursing Assistant - Cardiac
About The Position
Under the direction/supervision of an RN, this position provides basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients. The role encompasses various general nursing units and special care areas, including caring for patients from 15 years to maturity, those with high-risk conditions, individuals with pregnancy-related conditions in Labor and Delivery, newborns in the Nursery, pediatric patients from neonate through age eighteen, toddlers through adults in the GI Lab Unit, adult patients and families with emotional problems in the Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit, and presenting patients of all ages in the Emergency Unit. Surgical Services also provides care to patients from neonate to geriatric. The successful candidate must complete established competencies for the position within a designated introductory period.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course
- 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
