Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • State of Massachusetts RN licensure.
  • BLS Certification.
  • ACLS Certification.
  • PALS Certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  • Progressive clinical and supervisory experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • TNCC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates areas of improvement to Department Director(s) and/or Chief Nursing Officer when appropriate.
  • Acts as a resource for nursing staff for clinical concerns, demonstrating, educating, and recommending as needed.
  • Monitors and assigns placement of new admissions and transfers during shift.
  • Monitors all activity throughout the hospital during a given shift, is aware of all critical patient situations and ensures appropriate resources for care as assigned.
  • Maintains safe and appropriate staffing levels in compliance with staffing policies.
  • Staffs' units appropriate labor hr/stat for a given unit.
  • Identifies and resolves interpersonal and/or professional conflicts that may occur when dealing with other members of the hospital team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of budget management as it relates to staffing, overtime, and supplies.
  • Provides appropriate written justification for budget/staffing variances.
