About The Position

The Nurses Aide Training Specialist contributes to the Hospital’s mission by teaching a quality health education program. This role involves utilizing compassion, empathy, and respect to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, aiming for expected outcomes and maintaining the highest level of professionalism consistent with a Magnet Hospital. This staff position significantly impacts patient safety by providing excellent mentoring and training to clinical staff during their initial week of training and orientation in the Clinical Assistant Training Program (CATP). The specialist will provide training and mentoring to clinical assistant (CA) trainees on patient care, including personal hygiene tasks, proper lifting techniques, and checking vital signs on the clinical site. Requirements

  • Graduate of a state-approved and/or accredited RN program
  • Valid State of Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
  • At least two years in clinical nursing
  • Experience as a preceptor or trainer
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Vaccination against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment

Nice To Haves

  • BSN strongly encouraged
  • At least two years of health education experience

Responsibilities

  • Teach a quality health education program at any level
  • Utilize compassion, empathy, and respect to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve expected outcomes and meet the highest level of professionalism
  • Provide excellent mentoring and training of clinical staff in the first week of training and orientation in the Clinical Assistant Training Program (CATP)
  • Provide training and mentoring to clinical assistant (CA) trainees on patient care, which may include personal hygiene tasks with a patient, proper lifting, and checking vital signs on the clinical site
  • Conduct evaluations regarding trainees' abilities
  • Adapt teaching style to meet the needs of the trainees
  • Collaborate with other Nurse Aide Training Specialists and Training Assistants to keep class content consistent
