About The Position

The Nursery Worker position involves seasonal employment focused on the production and maintenance of nursery stock. The role requires handling both manual and mechanized tasks associated with nursery production, ensuring the care and management of various plants and crops.

Requirements

• 3 months of prior experience working in a nursery handling manual and machine tasks.
• Ability to perform manual and mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Planting, digging, mulching, transplanting, mowing, and watering in nurseries and seasonal holding houses.
• Fertilizing, pruning, spraying, spacing, watering, tagging, and performing other plant maintenance tasks.
• Counting and inventorying plants.
• Propagating plants from cuttings.
• Loading finished plants onto wagons and trucks.
• Removing plastic from seasonal holding houses in spring and covering them in fall.
• Assisting with the installation of seasonal holding houses.
• Filling, lifting, and carrying various size pots with soil and plants weighing up to 60 pounds.
